Puppy Exposure & Socialization Overview From Birth to 8 Weeks - Puppies will receive daily handling by me. 3 weeks - Pups will begin rotation from whelping room to different areas around the house (i.e. living room, garage, outside kennel shed/run, etc). 4 weeks - Pups will be allowed supervised access to explore the house and yard. - Pups are introduced and allowed to interact with my cats. 5 weeks - Pups will begin potty training. - Pups are allowed to interact and play with other members of my canine pack. - Pups will begin to be greeted and allowed interaction with human visitors of various ages, races, sizes and genders. The visitors will be trained on how to properly handle each puppy. [In order to limit any possible harmful bacteria to transmit to young pups, visitors will be required to wash their face, arms and hands. As well as wear fresh (clean) clothing and remove their shoes before entering the whelping area.] [Pups will have met at least 25+ people prior to going to their new homes. Please realize this is a "presocialization" period. This does not subsitute for the ongoing socialization new owners must provide throughout their puppy's life.] - Pups are introduced to various objects of different colors, shapes and sizes. Such as plastic bottles, cans, cardboard boxes, balls, other varieties of toys, noise makers and so forth. A small kiddie pool with low level water will also be provided. They'll be exposed to some basic grooming items (nail clippers, brushes and combs). This is just to name a few. 6 weeks - Pups will begin crate training sessions. - Pups will be introduced to the leash. 7 weeks - Pups will receive their 1st set of vaccines. - Pups will be introduced to sheep, horses and other livestock. 8 weeks - Pups will have their first bath using a gentle puppy shampoo. - Pups will be sent to their new homes.
